Dear JLT Board
We’re part of a show at Artspace in Sydney opening on the 14th of June, it’s a a duo show with Terra0 curated by Baden Pailthorpe and Denise Thwaites and takes place at Artspace’s Ideas Platform, which is this wood structure / shed looking space. In the mockup you can see that Terra0 have been allocated to the big wall, leaving us with some smaller walls and the space in the middle.
Here’s the options for what we should show in that space. Depending on the result, more specific proposals will follow.
Option 1
Big JLT sculptural token pieces, probably fabricated out of foam or plywood.
Option 2
1-2 JLT wall pieces, following the same visual from the Kindl show, but with different compositions.
Option 3
Fill all remaining space with abstract and semi-didactic wallpaper / carpet. the JLT token here as a place holder
Option 4
Freestanding JLT monolith banners with some specific yet 'abstracted' information.
My preference right now is the sculptural pieces, as we haven’t done big ones before and it gives us a lot of different options in terms of position in the space and how to paint / style the pieces themselves. Do we put information on them, or camouflage patterns or keep them monochrome?
